Donate Books and Other Materials

Frederick County Public Libraries (FCPL) welcomes donated materials within the following guidelines:

• FCPL accepts donations of popular, lightly-used books and media excluding encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, VHS tapes, cassettes, or records.
• Due to limited storage space, we can accept one box or bag of items per customer during regular business hours.
• Please bring your box or bag inside the library for staff to receive.
• If you wish to donate substantial volumes of materials, please contact your branch for guidance.
• Upon request, FCPL will issue you a donation acknowledgement form for your records.
