Language Switcher

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the public input process for this project. Your valuable contribution has helped shape the look and feel of this new branch. While we await groundbreaking in the spring of 2027, here are some features to look forward to at this new branch:

  1. A reading grove
  2. A woodland-themed play area
  3. A walking path with seating along the way
  4. Parking for cars and bikes
  5. Green space, including new trees!
  6. A large meeting room that’s multiuse
  7. Lots of study rooms
  8. Expansive collection of brand-new books and other materials, including many offerings in Spanish

Help Expand our Collection: Spanish-Language Materials Survey Still Open

We’re providing this survey as part of an effort to expand FCPL’s World Language offerings. To start, we are seeking input about Spanish-language books and materials. This survey should take approximately 5 minutes.

Esteemed guests unveil the first exterior rendering of the new library

FCPL Director James Kelly was joined by County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, FCPL Board Chair Shemica Sheppard and other esteemed guests in May for the unveiling of the first exterior rendering for the new library.

WE HEARD YOU!

Our community meeting in fall 2025 provided you an opportunity to let us know more about how you want your library branch to look and feel.  We also provided an opportunity for you to provide input via a digital survey if you were unable to make the in-person meeting.

Our architecture firm built from the input received at our winter 2025 community input meeting and offered three themes for participants to vote on. The clear preference was for the Around the World theme, which offers rich and diverse colors, textures, and patterns. In addition, they requested community members choose words that describe how they want this branch to look and feel. The 3 top words were warm, cozy, and calming.
