A. A Passport to Reading is on the back of all gameboards. If you have registered online, be sure to collect your gameboard with passport at your local branch, along with your other sign up materials. Patrons must visit and receive a stamp at each of FCPL’s 8 branches to complete the passport activity. Once a patron has visited all 8 branches, they must turn their passport in to any FCPL library by August 10, 2013 to enter a drawing for a backpack, a baseball signed by Frederick Keys baseball players, and a $20 PNC gift card.
A. Your name and username will never appear with your reviews, so if you make your reviews public, other kids will only see your review and not your name. If you don’t want anyone to see your review, be sure to select “No” when you log your minutes.
A. Once you have entered a review, you can change it by clicking on “My Reviews” after logging in to the Summer Reading Program Website. Click “View” next to the review you want to change and press “Save” to save the changes when you are finished. All reviews must follow FCPL’s Social Media Commenting Policy.
A. Children and teens can set their own reading goal for the summer. It does not impact how you complete the program or your ability to win prizes – it is simply a way to set a personal reading goal. Also, you can always change your Patron Goal at any time by clicking the ‘Your Info’ button from your Activity Center Homepage.
A. We have a limited number of gameboards and are not able to give out extras. We encourage patrons to log reading online using the Summer Reading Program Website. Teens can also attach a sheet of paper to their gameboard and note their reading time. They can take this to the library to have more chances to win prizes.
A. If you are participating in the Dig Into Reading program for kids, you should come to the library and get a gameboard. You earn a prize for each completed row of reading activities on the gameboard. There are 3 rows with 6 reading activities in each. When you complete the third row, your prize will be a paperback book. You can also earn one treasure chest prize for logging 600 or more minutes online.
A. No! You can sign up at your local branch library and participate at the library without using the website at all. However, kids can earn an extra prize by tracking their minutes online and reading 600 or more minutes.
