Shiver me timbers! It's International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Calling all ye land lubbers to join us in the festivities. Perhaps you might spot our captain walkin' about on deck, too! Costumes not required but are encouraged and welcome.

The next Spanish storytime will be October 24. Take advantage of your child's natural language learning abilities: bring him or her to this special storytime in Spanish presented by Cynthia Fraga-Canadas from Mount St. Mary's University. Sing songs, listen to stories, and introduce your child to another language! Ages 2-5, with an adult.

Transition to Twos

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

Celebrate this historic anniversary by traveling back in time to learn about the Constitution! Step into our time machine and visit with Ben Franklin as he teaches us about Colonial life and the Constitution. Ben will show us how to play some colonial games, construct a tri-corner hat and even help us to write with a quill. Registration Required. (For ages 3-5)

Read to a New Dog Friend - Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy pet! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program improves children's reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog or cat. But not just any dog or cat. R.E.A.D. pets are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children. This program is held every 4 weeks. Sept 21, Oct 19, Nov 16.

Allergy Alert! The dogs and cats are live animals.

What makes a good design? How do you create the next great idea or product? Come find out as we use the design process to create our own original products. We will ideate and sketch, build models and test them, and finally 3D print our final designs! Registrants must attend all three sessions. Ages 10-13.

Pizza Your Homework

Poketown Gym! – A Pokemon Trading Card League for all ages!

The Poketown Gym, Frederick County's official Pokemon League, provides a place for you to get together with other fans of Pokemon to have some fun. Using your own cards, you can play, trade, and earn cool prizes, all for free!

Even if you are just a beginner, at league you can learn all the rules of the game. Don’t have any Pokemon cards? No worries, we'll have some starter decks on hand to get you going! Joining a league is the best way to hone your skills to compete in bigger Pokemon tournaments where players win great prizes like cards, medals, and even scholarships!

OMOB: Teen Genealogy Project
