Learn to Play Magic The Gathering with Comics to Astonish!

Wednesday, July 1, 2015 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Join the experts from Comics to Astonish in Mt Airy to learn to play Magic the Gathering. In this three-program series, participants can practice playing on July 1 and 22 (if you have cards, feel free to bring them but they're not required to participate). On July 29, everyone can enjoy a Magic the Gathering tournament (your own cards required). This is a program for middle and high school aged students.

My First Book Club

Join us every month as we read and explore our favorite picture books through crafts, songs, and activities! You are welcome to read the selection to your child before our book club meets, but it is not required. Ages 3-5.

Soolah Hoops

Come join Soolah as she shares the joys of hula hooping. Kids will be entertained with a demonstration of hula hooping tricks with different kinds of hula hoops. Soolah will share her hoops, teaching kids how to hoop, how to do some tricks and play some games! Hoops will be provided. Please be sure your child is in comfortable clothing and has a water bottle to stay hydrated. Best for children in grades K-8.

Storytelling Through Music

Presented by the Maryland Wind Ensemble, this program invites children to imagine and discover stories being brought to life through music. This program is best appreciated by children ages 5-12 and their caregivers, but is open to all ages.

Baby Kindermusik

Teachers are heroes too! Kindermusik teacher Pam Mathews brings a gentle gathering time, movement activities, singing, chanting, instrument exploration, exercise/balance, intentional touch, quiet time, and object play to the Middletown Library. For ages birth to 18 months. Registration required.

3,2,1 SUGO!

3, 2, 1, SUGO! - Learn how to customize Lego NXT robots and challenge other builders in a SUGO match with members of the RoboRangers 4-H Club. What is SUGO? SUmo wrestling for LeGO robots. This is a STEM program geared to grades K-3. Registration required.

Take the Robotic Challenge!

Take the Lego Robotic Challenge - Lego NXT robots feature a friendly code that tweens can understand. Join members of the RoboRangers 4-H Club as they work in small groups with participants to program a robot to run a specific mission. This is a STEM program geared toward children in 4th and 5th grades. Registration required.
