Animal Heroes Meetup: Sheriff K-9 Officer Demonstration

Meet up with a law enforcement officer who fights crime one bite at a time – a Frederick County Sherriff’s Office K-9 Officer. We will meet at the Middletown Park, near the pavilion by the pond, at 1:30 p.m. Demonstration will take place in the grassy area behind the pavilion.

Right On Recycling! – This family program is full of fascinating facts about the complete cycle of recycling. Learn what happens after your materials are picked up at the curb, see what they get made into and find out why everything can’t be recycled. Bring items from home to have your recycling questions answered by Annmarie Creamer from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management. (Registration required.)

Furry Tales with Pet Vet Dr. Little of the Village Vet of Urbana

Lightsaber and Knight Academy Demo with Red Lotus Martial Arts Center

Would you like to find your inner hero? Come out to the Edward F. Fry Memorial Library and let Red Lotus Martial Arts Center help you learn! Learn about basic sword fencing instruction which builds confidence, hand eye coordination, and basic self defense. We will also talk about building your own lightsaber and ways to wield like a true Jedi Knight.
