Season of Wonder: Escape the Ordinary Frederick Reads 2015: Ann Patchett

The Frederick Reads theme for 2015 - Season of Wonder: Escape the Ordinary - began February 1 with Former United States Poet Laureate (2008-2010) and Pulitzer Prize winner, Kay Ryan at the Weinberg Center for the Arts.

In April, Frederick Reads is thrilled to welcome Best-selling author Ann Patchett as the keynote speaker for the 10th anniversary season of Frederick Reads. Named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by TIME in 2012, Patchett will be interviewed by NPR’s Maureen Corrigan on-stage. Exclusive Meet and Greet Reception with Ann Patchett & Maureen Corrigan

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with both nationally known literary luminaries at this fundraising reception prior to the free main event. Attendees will receive a complimentary book and first-choice seating at the on-stage discussion following the reception. Refreshments will be served.

Weinberg Center for the Arts - March 23, 2015, 5:15 – 6:15 pm

Symphony Storytime with Frederick Symphony Orchestra!

Thursday, May 28, 2015 - 10:30am to 11:00am
Children and their parents experience a live musical collaboration between the library reader and a Frederick Symphony Orchestra musician during this 30 minute storytime! Musicians will play short selections, talk a little about their instrument, answer questions, and, after the stories are read aloud, audience members can take a closer peek at an instrument petting zoo provided by the music specialty store Music & Arts! This program is best appreciated by children ages 2-6 and their caregivers, but is open to all ages
