Babies With Books

Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school-as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and activities. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills.

Children's Summer Lunch and Lit Program

Thursday, June 27, 2013 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Once weekly lunch for children of any age, followed by a literacy activity. Any food/beverage offered may contain ingredients which may cause allergic reaction, i.e. wheat, nuts, soy, etc. Parents/guardians, please be advised that it is solely your responsibility to ensure the welfare of the children in your care and your option to allow/disallow the products offered. Registration for this event acknowledges that you have read and understand this caution.

Babies With Books: Birth to Twenty-Four Months

Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school - as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and activities. Get to know other families an help your baby develop listening and language skills. Tickets will be available on the day of the program for the first 15 parent/child pairs. This program is limited, so come early for your ticket.

Catriona's Castle

Catriona, the Fairy Godmother, conducts a 45 minute program of Peter Pan. Thirty randomly selected children can be costumed to act out the story with the help of audience participation as the Fairy Godmother tells the story and whispers things for the children to say and do. Best for ages 2-12 with an adult.

Photography Basics for Kids

Grab your camera and your parents and come learn how to take great pictures! The Frederick Camera Clique is holding a free class on camera basics and composition. Come shoot with us along Carroll Creek. All camera types welcome, except cell phone cameras. If you have a digital camera, the Clique will print 2 copies of your best picture. You will get to take one copy home with you and the other copy will hang in the library for all to see for a month! All students must supply their own camera and be escorted by an adult. For ages 8-12. Maximum attendance is 20 kids.
