Hero Stories: Meet a Park Naturalist & Animals

Tuesday, May 5, 2015 - 4:00pm to 4:45pm
Get up close and personal animals from Fountain Rock Nature Center and learn about being a Park Naturalist. Every Hero has a Story, and your local Park Naturalist has plenty to share about plants and animals at Fountain Rock. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult as requested by the park.

CANCELLED - Future Filmakers Digital Workshop (for ages 6 - 11)

CANCELLED - During this monthly workshop we will focus on the artistic and technical aspects of digital filmmaking for creating stop motion movies. Participants will learn film editing, animation, and camera techniques. We encourage kids to B.Y.O.D (Bring Your Own Device) and will be using software that requires iOS 5.0 or later on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Don't have a device - no worries. We will have some to share!



America's Girls - Exploring U.S. History

Explore U.S. history through stories and poems; participate in discussions, crafts and activities related to what we read. Stop by the Walkersville Library to pick up your copy of this months selection. This is a book club for grades 2-4 meeting on the first Tuesday of each month.

R.E.A.D. ® with Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a specially trained "listening" animal! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.
*Allergy Alert! The dogs and cats are live animals.*
