We are so excited to announce the return of our summer concert series: Music on the Deck, which has brought exceptional musicians to the Thurmont Regional Library for more than 10 years. Bring the family to enjoy a free Sunday concert on the deck of the library. Even on the hottest of days, the deck is a cool place to be! All performances begin at 2:00 p.m.

This concert series is brought to you through the generosity of the Friends of the Thurmont Regional Library.

Rock Creek Revival is a Maryland-based band that draws inspiration from the broad history of bluegrass, from first generation pioneers like Bill Monroe and Jimmy Martin to more contemporary acts such as Hot Rize and Yonder Mountain String Band. Our setlists feature plenty of bluegrass favorites, as well as songs by the Grateful Dead, Merle Haggard, Townes Van Zandt, Sturgill Simpson, and our own original tunes.

The Fly Birds are an award winning musical embodiment of Alternative Bluegrass & Appalachia based out of Winchester, Virginia. They’ve navigated the music industry for 7 years, their voices and melodies soaring to new heights together. This unique and original band is comprised of Elizabeth Baker on banjo, Mary Dunlap on bass, Sarah Twigg on guitar and Crystal Shipley on fiddle. They released their first full length original album “The Band is Causing Problems” in 2020 and just released their second album “The Band is Playing Covers.” Together they make a memorable sound certain to make you tap your feet and sing along!
