The library is excited to be part of the University of Marylands Bat Acoustic Traveling Study research to determine bat activity and species in urban, suburban, and rural areas. PhD and undergraduate students will share information about all the good things bats do in our community and demonstrate how the bat detector box (with a microphone 20 feet up in the air!!) records high frequency bat calls. Live acoustic demonstrations and audience participation (weather permitting)!
