Baltimore Checkerspot Butterflies Craft & Program

Did you know that the Baltimore Checkerspot is Maryland's state butterfly? Why are their numbers decreasing and what can we do to help? Learn all about this Maryland treasure from a Girl Scout earning her Gold Award and create a butterfly craft to take home. Ages 6-11, with an adult.

Summer Activities Fair Open House

Looking for something fun to do this summer? Fair will be held from 4 - 6 and will give families an opportunity to visit informational tables hosted by local organizations and businesses offering fun summer activities for children under age 18. Summer camps, sports activties, theater groups and more will be represented. This fair is for information only - there's no pressure to sign up for anything. Interested in hosting a table? First Friday Fun Fest at Westview Promenade

Storyland: A Sensory Storytime for Little Ones

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

READ to a New Dog Friend

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program improves children's reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog. But not just any dog. R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children. Allergy alert: the dogs are live animals.
