R.E.A.D. ® with Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a specially trained "listening" animal! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.

Transition to Twos

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

Walking Tour of Historic Walkersville

Step into the past on this interactive walking tour of historic Walkersville. Hear stories of long ago residents and the people who helped build our town. This is a 45 minutes walking tour. Wear appropriate clothing and bring water to hydrate. Rain date 10/24.

Read to a New Dog Friend - PAWS to Read

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! The PAWS to Read program improves children's reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog. But not just any dog. PAWS to Read dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children.
