Babies With Books: Birth to Twenty-Four Months

Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school - as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and activities. Get to know other families an help your baby develop listening and language skills. Tickets will be available on the day of the program for the first 15 parent/child pairs. This program is limited, so come early for your ticket.

Collegebound - Accessing Financial Aid

Each year, the State of Maryland awards over $100 million in need-based grants, scholarships, and loan repayment programs. Beneé Edwards, Outreach and Grants Coordinator for the Maryland Higher Education Commission, will be on hand to demonstrate how to complete your financial aid to-do list efficiently and effectively.

Transition to Twos

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

R.E.A.D. ® with Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a specially trained "listening" animal! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.

*Allergy Alert! The dogs and cats are live animals.*

Trail Mixers Hiking Group

Join us as we explore our local state parks with the help of Park Rangers. We will learn about the flora and fauna who call the park home before heading out on a trek ourselves. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes! 9/12 – meet at Cunningham Falls State Park Lower Trail/Cliff Trail trailhead, 9/26 – meet at Gambrills State Park at the Trailhead Parking Lot on Gambrill Park Road , 11/7 – meet at Cunningham Falls State Park Cat Rock Trail trailhead.

Poketown Gym! – A Pokemon Trading Card League for all ages!

The Poketown Gym, an official Pokemon League, provides a place for you to get together with other fans of Pokemon to have some fun. Use your own cards to make decks and play with others.
