Kid Art Studio

Be an artist at your library. In 6 weekly sessions, learn about famous artworks and then create your own. This program is for homeschooled children, but is open to all children. Recommended for children ages 6-12. Registration is required.Register for all 6 weeks of the series.

Think with BINK: A Fort Detrick Alliance STEM Program for Kids (Grades 1-5)

A visiting scientist, technician, engineer or mathematician from the Fort Detrick Alliance will teach us all about STEM each month!

March theme: Math Is Popping Up
Explore some very interesting 3D objects called Platonic solids, and then build some yourself! Learn about their structure, mathematical properties, and where they occur in nature. Finally, find out whether soap bubbles are always round.

For students in grade 1-5. Registration required.

The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.

Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school - as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and activities. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills. Storytime for babies 0-24 months.
