Children's Summer Lunch and Lit Program

Once weekly lunch for children of any age, followed by a literacy activity. Any food/beverage offered may contain ingredients which may cause allergic reaction, i.e. wheat, nuts, soy, etc. Parents/guardians, please be advised that it is solely your responsibility to ensure the welfare of the children in your care and your option to allow/disallow the products offered. Teen Book Club

The Teen Book Club meets on the third Thursday of every month to discuss and share books. Each month we pick a different theme to guide our reading and discussion.

Some themes we've discussed in the past include dystopias, Egyptian mythology, fantasy books, historical fiction, and award winners.

For this month's theme or for more information about the book club please contact us at the Walkersville Library. We'd love to have you join us!

Refreshments may be served. The Teen Book Club is open to students entering grades 6 through 12 in the fall.

Basics of Martial Arts

Want to learn more about martial arts and impress your friends? Join us as Amy Dudrow, instructor at the Jhoon Rhee Black Belt Academy, teaches you about martial arts. You'll even see a demonstration of how a martial artist can break a board. A signed permission slip from a parent or guardian is required to participate in this program.

Knit Wits!

Teens and tweens! Come learn how to knit or share your knitting know-how at the library!

Knit Wits! is Walkersville's newest Crafternoon activity and is open to knitters, crocheters, and crafters of all ages. We'd love to have children and teens and their parents, aunts, grandmothers, and friends join us to learn this lovely craft and share their projects, knowledge, enthusiasm, and creativity.

Teen Crafternoon - Duct Tape

Come join us on the second Thursday of each month for our Teen Crafternoon.

In August we'll be making things with duct tape. Come ready to get creative and leave with your brand-new one-of-a-kind duct tape creation! All supplies provided.

Refreshments may be served. This Teen Crafternoon activity is open to teens and tweens entering grades 5 through 12 in the fall.
