Season of Thanks

Season of Thanks Banner Image.

A chill is in the air, many of the trees are bare, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Whether you’re celebrating near or far or not at all, the library has a plethora of programs, books, and information to keep you entertained, informed, and maybe even well fed this holiday season.

Kids ages 3 to 5 can make a Thanksgiving craft at the Urbana Regional Library on Friday, November 22nd, at 1:30pm. For teens who want to learn how to take and edit photos using a digital camera, professional photographer Cam Miller will be presenting Creative Self Portraits at the Thurmont Regional Library on Saturday, November 23rd, at 1:00pm. Adults can get into the flow and visit the C. Burr Artz Library at 10:30am on Monday, November 25th, for a free Good Cause yoga class from Sol Yoga.

What holiday would be complete without festive food? Whether you’re cooking for one, or two, or many the following cookbooks have recipes for turkey, stuffing, sides, and special dietary needs.

All of our branches will be closing early at 5:00pm, on Wednesday, November 27th, and will remain closed on Thursday, November 28th, in observance of Thanksgiving. Even though our branches will be closed, our eLibrary is always available 24/7, and our regional libraries will reopen at 10:00am on Friday, November 29th.
