Frosty Fun

Frosty Fun.

Brrr…winter is finally upon us and we all know what that means…Frosty Fun at the library! Throughout the month of December our branches are offering a variety of winter-themed programs for children, teens, and their families.

This Thursday, December 12th, children ages 3 to 5 can enjoy a special story and make a silly snowman at the Urbana Regional Library at 2:00pm, teens can visit the Middletown Library at 3:00pm for a wonderful winter movie after school, and children ages 6 to 11 can make a frosty and fabulous holiday ornament at the Urbana Regional Library at 4:15pm.

The fun doesn’t stop on Thursday. This weekend brings us Frosty Fun for children of all ages, including Belsnickling and mask making at the C. Burr Artz Public Library, and gingerbread house building at the Thurmont Regional Library.

As the month continues teens can volunteer on Monday, December 16th, at the Thurmont Regional Library and celebrate the season on Tuesday, December 17th, at the Middletown Library by creating a handmade gift.

The Jolly Elf Jubilee comes to the Emmitsburg Library on Saturday, December 21st at 11:00am. Children and their families can learn their elf names, go on an elf hunt, and make their own elf hat complete with pointy ears! And if you need a reminder that the best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear, don’t forget to check out a copy of the movie Elf.

The complete list of all the Frosty Fun programs and events going on at all eight of our library branches is too long to fit in this short article, so be sure to check our Frosty Fun event page to see all of the wonderful winter happenings from now through February. If you’ll be joining us for any of the above listed events, don’t forget to click the links and register. We’d love to know that you’ll be visiting the library and joining us to celebrate the season.

All of our branches will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25th, in observance of Christmas. Even though our branches will be closed, our eLibrary is always available 24/7, and our regional and branch libraries will reopen at 10:00am, on Thursday, December 26th. Stay toasty, Frederick County!
